## About

Dated to 1872, when the merchant Mykola Khriakov bought an estate on Kyrylivska Street in Podil with a disused foundry and, with partners, founded the Kyiv Brewery Society, which brewed on equipment brought from Pilsen. Nationalised as Kyiv Brewery No. 2, it became part of the Obolon lease enterprise in 1990 and a separate joint-stock company in 1993; by 2006 over 90% of the shares were held by the construction company Akrolit. The last brew was in December 2013 and the plant closed on 28 February 2014.
