How it works
In 1983 Phil Sexton, Garry Gosatti, John Tollis and Ron Groves formed Brewtech, which bought the Freemasons Hotel on South Terrace, Fremantle, and reopened it as the Sail & Anchor with its own brewery; the first beer, Anchor Ale, was brewed in late 1984. After Foster's bought Matilda Bay in 1990 the hotel went to the Australian Leisure & Hospitality Group, which later ended the brewing there. unverified info
