Netherlands A brewery on the Plenkertstraat in Valkenburg, South Limburg, in a former powder factory with a water wheel (the Kruitmolen) on the Geul. In 1886 the Aachen brewery Dortmunder Brauhaus (Dittman & Sauerland, founded 1871) opened a branch there. After Aachen ended, Valkenburg continued, and a new company Bierbrouwerij De Leeuw issued shares in April 1921. Brewing was gradually moved to Belgium; the beer Leeuw has been brewed in Belgium since 2006 and only a sales office was left in Valkenburg. The old brewery site has been redeveloped. unverified info
