## About

Brouwerij De Gouden Boom was started in 1983 by Paul Vanneste, a great-grandson of Jules Vanneste, who had begun brewing at 't Hamerken in Bruges in 1889, with the help of Frank Boon of Lembeek. It brewed Brugs Tarwebier, the Steenbrugge abbey beers and, from 1987, the Brugse Tripel. Palm took it over (in 2003 according to Dutch Wikipedia) and moved the brewing to Steenhuffel in 2004; the buildings were sold in 2006.
