## About

The Olsztyn brewery on al. Wojska Polskiego began in 1878 as Bayrisch-Bier-Brauerei F. Matern & Comp., was called Waldschlösschen Brauerei from 1886 and passed to the Daum brothers in 1930. It was ruined in 1945, rebuilt and nationalised, and restarted in 1963. Privatised in 1992 with branches in Szczytno and Biskupiec, it belonged from 1997 to the German firm Drinks & Food and stopped brewing in 2007. The Faustus, Heban and Koźlak brands went to Barlan Beverages Group; the brewhouse, the administration building and the malt dryer are listed, and the rest became the Browary Park housing estate.
