How it works
Brewing is first mentioned in Berdychiv in 1798. The present brewery goes back to 1861, when the Czech colonist Stanislav Chep bought a plot on Bilopilska Street (now Yevropeiska) and built a brewery with an artesian well, the fourth in the town. In 1962 the first hop-extract workshop in the USSR opened here and in 1975 the plant became 'experimental'. It was privatised on 1 March 1995 and sold mostly in the Zhytomyr region; its 160th anniversary was held on 4 September 2021. unverified info
