How it works
Showa Kirin Brewery finished its brewery at Yeongdeungpo in December 1933; after 1945 it was taken over by the authorities, and Tongyang Brewery of the Doosan group was founded in May 1952, brewing OB. It became Oriental Brewery in 1995 and moved to Icheon in 1997. Doosan sold it to the Belgian Interbrew in steps between 1998 and 2001, and in December 1999 OB bought Jinro-Coors (Cass). AB InBev sold it to KKR for 1.8 billion USD in 2009 and bought it back for 5.8 billion in 2014. It brews at Icheon, Cheongju and Gwangju (Cass, OB, Cafri, Budweiser, Hoegaarden), and in September 2024 agreed to buy Jeju Soju from Shinsegae. unverified info
